Sylvan Melroe, BS '57, is the 2013 recipient of the NDSU Heritage Award for Alumni Service, presented at the Alumni Awards Celebration April 18. This award celebrates an alumnus who has demonstrated outstanding support of time and talent to NDSU projects or activities. Melroe has served on the NDSU Alumni Association Board of Directors (15 years, two terms as president), College of Human Development and Education Board of Visitors, College of Engineering and Architecture Advisory Board, Business School Advisory Board, NDSU Team Makers and numerous fundraising campaigns. During his career he was vice president of sales and marketing for Steiger Tractor and vice president of international marketing for Melroe Company.
